Kentec Training’s Biggest Fundraising Challenge Yet: The Great Tommy Sleep Out 2027

In 2027, we’re taking on what we hope will be our biggest fundraising challenge yet as Kentec Training hosts our very own Great Tommy Sleep Out at our Tonbridge Training Centre in Kent, raising vital funds to support veterans experiencing homelessness.

Supporting the Armed Forces community is something that has long been close to our hearts at Kentec. Several members of our instructor team are veterans themselves, bringing the skills, experience and values developed during their service into the training they deliver every day.

Over the years, we’ve been proud to support a number of Armed Forces charities and causes. Our team has previously raised more than £3,000 for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, as well as fundraising for Blind Veterans UK through challenges taken on by members of the Kentec team and our wider community.

For 2027, however, we wanted to go even bigger.

At the Kent Construction Expo 2026, we made a commitment: to bring together 45 people for our 2027 Great Tommy Sleep Out. Now we need your help to make it happen.

For one night, participants will sleep outside at our Tonbridge Centre to raise money and awareness for veterans facing homelessness. We know that one night outdoors cannot recreate the reality of homelessness or what those experiencing it go through, but it can start conversations, raise awareness and, most importantly, generate funds that can make a genuine difference.

Money raised will support Royal British Veterans Enterprise (RBVE) in providing emergency accommodation, employment pathways and supportive communities where veterans can rebuild their independence and move forward with purpose.

45 people. One night. One very important cause.

Whether you’re a member of the Kentec team, a customer, supplier, industry colleague, friend or simply someone who wants to support our Armed Forces community, we’d love you to be part of what will be our biggest fundraising challenge yet.

Sponsor our team, join the challenge and help us make the Kentec Training Great Tommy Sleep Out 2027 a night to remember – for all the right reasons.
